This Aquarius Full Moon in August is crazy, intense, powerful and highly stressful. The reason? There are two T squares, which means that 8 planets are in a stressful situation. These are the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Uranus, Saturn, Venus, Jupiter and Mars. Plus Mercury is retrograde!
The only planet in its own sign is the Sun in Leo. It’s conjunct the Royal Star Regulus.
As an astrologer I am called to decipher the code and untangle these conflicting energies. First if you have any planet at 17 or 27 degrees of any sign then you are under the powerful and intense influence of this Full Moon. (This applies if a planet is at 15, 16, 17, 18 or 19 degrees. Or 25, 26, 27, 28 or 29 degrees.)
Main News-Jupiter Square to Saturn
The most important headline news is Jupiter in Gemini squares Saturn in Pisces at 17 degrees. Astrologer Rick Levine uses the term ‘Crisis in Action’. The reason it’s important? It’s part of a larger cycle that began in 2020.
The ‘Seed’ when Jupiter joined Saturn was on Dec 21st 2020. Rick Levine calls 2020 the ‘Year of Quarantine’. It was of course the year when the Covid epidemic affected the whole world.
This conjunction in 2020 was at 0 degrees 28 mins Aquarius. It started a whole new cycle in an air sign. What was going on in your life back then and again this year?
Pluto passed this degree on 4th February then again 9th August 2024. The final time will be 11th December 2024. In the news just before this on 6th August Kamala Harris chooses Tim Walz as her vice-presidential pick for the 2024 US election.
Jupiter wants expansion and growth, Saturn is the opposite as it represents restriction and limitation. They are both in Gemini, the sign ruled by the planet Mercury. So what is Mercury up to?
Mercury is retrograde and combust the Sun at the Full Moon. It goes direct on 28th August so there are still 10 days to go.
Uranus the Disrupter is Square to the Full Moon
Uranus was discovered on March 13, 1781, completely by accident. It was discovered way back in at the time of huge upheavals in the world.
Uranus is at the same degree as the Full Moon forming the T square. This configuration can bring a mix of unpredictability, tension, and the potential for breakthroughs. Change is the keyword for Uranus.
Because Uranus is unpredictable astrologers agree to expect the unexpected during this time. This could range from sudden insights to actual disruptions in daily life.
The negative is emotional volatility. The Full Moon tends to heighten emotions, and with Uranus involved, there can be sudden emotional outbursts or unexpected events that disrupt the status quo. The Moon is in Aquarius, the sign ruled by Uranus. With the Moon in Aquarius connecting with like minded groups, the internet and communities is highlighted.
The positive is creative breakthroughs. The Sun in Leo’s influence on the Moon can inspire creative self-expression, and Uranus can bring innovative ideas or unconventional approaches. The Sun is strong in Leo, its own sign of leadership. Its the Archetype of the King.
Mercury The Messenger rules Jupiter and Mars in Gemini and Venus in Virgo
Also highlighted at this Full Moon is Mercury retrograding in Leo and combust the Sun. Mercury rules both Jupiter and Mars in Gemini and Venus in Virgo.
Mercury the Messenger has two roles- scout where he gathers information and the psychopomp where he is the guide in the Underworld. So he can be a Morning Star or an Evening Star. At this Full Moon Mercury is now the Scout as the Morning Star and its combust the Sun so communications are strained. Mercury goes direct on 28th August. To work with Mercury invoke Thoth and Divination. Choose a tarot card from a deck of cards that speaks to you.

Mars Joins Jupiter
Mars joined Jupiter in Gemini on August 11th and is still relevant. This is a powerful boost of energy so can be positive depending on your chart. You can do it.

- Saturn is in Pisces all month. It went retrograde on June 29th at 19 degrees Pisces.
- Uranus is in Taurus all month.
- Neptune is in Pisces retrograde all month at 29 degrees.
- Pluto is now retrograde in Aquarius all month.

EARTH SIGNS Jupiter left Taurus on May 25th.
Uranus is now the only outer planet in Taurus. Change is what Uranus needs. Work with it. Make some practical changes in your life. Clear out those cupboards!
WATER SIGNS Neptune The Dreamer is now retrograde at the last degree of Pisces. In Pisces it favours all the water signs. Watch your visions and dreams, get creative and meditate. We now have an opportunity to bring our dreams into manifestation. Trust your intuition. One key word for Neptune is compassion.
However watch out for scams! It can also indicate illusion, deceit, scandal, loss, drowning, a feeling of being overwhelmed and lost. If you’ve been feeling exhausted, depressed, over-burdened and with little energy then I recommend taking time out and being kind to yourself. Bach Flower remedies such as Elm, Sweet Chestnut and Oak may be helpful. Also for shock Rock Rose or Rescue Remedy.
AIR SIGNS
Jupiter the greater benefic is now in Gemini. Look where that is in your birth chart.
Jupiter is the planet of faith, faith in life, that life is worth living. It takes 12 years to go around the zodiac, so look back 12 years to understand its influence in your chart. It is the biggest planet in our solar system and Jupiter is Zeus, King of the Gods. It brings good luck, expansiveness and the feel good factor.
Mars is now in Gemini in an air sign ruled by Mercury, and it promotes all activities connected to communication.
Pluto is now retrograde. Pluto is an outer planet and affects world events. It is now in Aquarius. However Pluto becomes more personal if it connects with one of inner planets in your chart. These are the Sun, Moon, Mercury Venus and Mars. It is activated at mid-life when it makes a square to itself around the age of 38. It has moved into Aquarius from January 21st until September 2024 when it will retrograde back in Capricorn. However it has only transited up to 2 degrees Aquarius so not a major transit.
