Capricorn New Moon A Time to go within
This Capricorn New Moon follows closely after the Winter Solstice on December 21st. Its the perfect time of year to go within and connect with your inner guides. There are 5 planets in Capricorn, the practical earth sign ruled by stoic Saturn. Capricorns get younger as they age as the wisdom of age suits them.
However as its the season of Christmas holidays taking time for oneself may be difficult to do.
My suggestion is to take just a few moments to write down what you have achieved this year. Celebrate those successes. Share with friends.
A Personal Note
For me I have been teaching a small group The Planets Within Course these last few months, plus I gave my first in person workshop since 2020. I will be giving my next in person workshop in London on February 4/5th 2023. Details to come.
My plan to launch a membership website in 2022 got put on hold. Life intervened! This in some part due to Mars in Gemini for 6 whole months has been travelling through my 12th house. The 12th House is the most invisible and spiritual place in each of our charts. Its the pre-birth womb place.
Now with Mercury travelling through the best business sign of the zodiac- Capricorn -until February 11th, I will focus on organising, structure, testing and completing all unfinished projects including my Membership website.
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, which gets a bad press. The positive is Mastery. It changes sign in May into Pisces which has a less harsh energy. That’s big news for 2023.
Mars is moving forward soon!
Mars the Warrior will go forward direct on January 12th. That’s good news!
It went retrograde on October 30th. With Mars in Gemini its almost impossible to get into a proper dialogue with those in power as the establishment (as seen by Saturn) refuses to budge. Mars will finally leave Gemini on March 25th 2023 when it moves into Cancer.
Mercury in Capricorn
The other main news is that Mercury is now firmly in Capricorn. It goes retrograde on 29th December, so it stays in Capricorn until 11th February- a full 2 months. This is good news for all earth signs, Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo. Plus, the water signs, Scorpio, Pisces and Cancer can also benefit.

- Capricorn Winter Solstice December 21st
- Mars in Gemini retrograde goes direct on January 12th, 2023.
- Mercury in Capricorn From December 6th. Goes retrograde on 29th December. Stays in Capricorn until 11th February 2023.
- Venus in Capricorn December 10th until January 3rd, 2023, when it moves into Aquarius.
- Full Moon January 6th in Cancer

The astrology of 2023 is an important year as finally the tense relationship of Saturn in Aquarius to Uranus in Taurus is over. The fixed signs of the zodiac-Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius can finally breathe a sigh of relief!
The nodal axis changes sign in 2023 into Aries North Node and Libra South Node. We need to re-evaluate our relationships to find balance. This axis focuses us on Mars and Venus, the lovers. Control results in power struggles and fights.
Venus -planet of love and money will go retrograde this year. It enters Leo on 5th June, goes retrograde on 23 July and finally leaves Leo on 9th October. It will change from an Evening Star to a Morning Star.
Mars -the planet of courage and the Warrior energises 7 signs, from Gemini to Sagittarius. Once it goes direct in Gemini on January 12th we get the go ahead. By 25th March it will finally leave Gemini where it has been for over 6 months.
Jupiter -the planet of Great Good Fortune moves quickly through Aries then into Taurus on 16th May. This is a feel good factor, especially for all 3 fire signs, Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. Then earth signs, Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn will benefit.
Saturn begins a whole new journey in Pisces. In 2023 it will sextile (a positive aspect) Jupiter in Taurus in June 2023. Look back to 1994-if you can remember-when it was last in Pisces.
Uranus continues in Taurus. Neptune remains in Pisces. Pluto in Capricorn, then briefly in Aquarius. All three go retrograde every year and can indicate life changing events if they activate a natal planet in your chart.
