Creating Abundance at this Goddess New Moon and Jupiter in Taurus
The New Moon in Taurus is the best New Moon of the year as the Moon is exalted in the sign of Taurus. It is also close to the mystical star group known as the Pleiades. Plus Venus is in Cancer, so they exchange signs. This is powerful Goddess energy. Eclipse season is over. Now is the time to embrace creativity and abundance.
It welcomes in the major change this year as Jupiter moved into Taurus on May 16th for an entire year.
Plus pesky Mercury is now direct after weeks retrograde. It changes energy from Trickster to Magician. It retraces its path through Taurus until it finally moves into its home sign of Gemini on June 11th.
The day after the New Moon Mars changes sign into Leo, where it is strong. Its been weak since March 25th while it was in Cancer, so you may have felt tired and lacking motivation. Now the planet of action says it full steam ahead.
Jupiter moves into Taurus on May 16th
Jupiter the greater benefic is now direct and it moves into Taurus for an entire year on May 16th until May 26th 2024. This is wonderful news for Taurus and Scorpio. Jupiter is the planet of faith, faith in life, that life is worth living. It takes 12 years to go around the zodiac, so look back 12 years to understand its influence in your chart. It is the biggest planet in our solar system and Jupiter is Zeus, King of the Gods. It brings good luck, expansiveness and the feel good factor. It truly is the planet of abundance, especially now its in the earth sign of Taurus.
Taurus is an earth sign ruled by Venus, and it promotes all activities connected to the earth such as gardening, music, farming, art, material wealth and all good things on the physical plane. It promotes cleaning and using Marie Kondo’s methods of letting go of anything that doesn’t bring you joy. Taurus is also compatible with the emotional water sign of Cancer. Fellow earth signs Virgo and Capricorn also benefit from Jupiter’s gaze.
Healing Self -Worth
Taurus is the natural ruler of the 2nd house in our birth charts. This is the area of our life concerned with how we earn money. And most importantly our talents and gifts. It connects us to how we value ourselves. Venus rules Taurus and Venus is the energy of attraction, it also governs money. Money is an exchange of energy. So this is also the time to heal any issue you may have around your self-worth an judgments about money. Inner beliefs can stand in your way. This is true if your childhood was a financial struggle for your family. Receiving is sometimes not as easy as giving.
Remedies for Venus- A Mantra
Vedic astrology offers remedies to help strengthen planets that are weak. The easiest method is a mantra which needs to be repeated out loud 108 times daily. The use of a mala (a bead necklace with 108 beads) is an excellent way to count. (They are available on Amazon.) Its also tactile and was the forerunner of the rosary.
Mantras awaken our consciousness and our physical body through the chakras. The word mantra comes from manas mind and trai device. Because you are making an effort each day you are shifting your karma, which is the energy of action. The results come over time.

Om Shrim Klim Sukra Namaha
Pronounce shrim as ‘shreem’ and klim as kleem’. Om is the universal sound for healing and peace, shrim the seed sound for the feminine principle of abundance, klim is the principle of attraction and Sukra the sanskrit name for Venus. Namaha means ‘I salute you’. Venus’ day is Friday, so a good time to start this would be this Friday.
Pluto and Transformation
The other main news this week is when a planet changes sign it will align with Pluto who is “stuck” at 0 degrees Aquarius. It has been there since March 23rd and will be until June 11th (the date Pluto goes back into Capricorn). This week Jupiter squares Pluto, Mars opposes and the Sun trines on Monday. Pluto is an outer planet and its orbit is very long-approx 248 years. It takes a long time to move through a sign. The transit through Aquarius will be 19 years, and really begins in 2024 until 2043. So Aquarians please don’t get too worried. Saturn is far more important in revealing difficulties to be overcome. And its no longer in Aquarius!

- May 3rd Mercury in Taurus until June 11th. April 21st went retrograde in Taurus at 9.35am BST. It stays in Taurus until June 11th.
- May 7th Venus in Cancer until June 5th when it moves into Leo.
- May 15th Mercury goes direct in Taurus at 4.17am BST
- May 16th Jupiter into Taurus for an entire year.

Saturn in Pisces
The second most important event of the year started on March 7th when Saturn-Lord of Karma – entered Pisces for the next two and a half years. This ended two and a half years of Saturn in Aquarius so comes as a welcome relief for all Aquarians and the other fixed signs of Leo and Scorpio. Water signs will now benefit as will the earth signs.
Saturn gets a bad press as its nature is heavy representing gravity and reality. To work with Saturn is the key. In the Vedic system the remedy for Saturn is being of service and supporting charities through our direct involvement. Saturn rules time, so once we give of our time and effort we can reap the reward. It is also Mastery as the effort we put in makes us a master.
Chiron and Old Wounds
Chiron the archetype of the Wounded Healer was also activated at the Solar eclipse in Aries. Old wounds need healing, especially those wounds we encountered in our family of birth. In my coaching I explore these issues with clients as they can often be seen in the birth chart in relationship to the Moon and the karmic axis.
Uranus in Taurus is now direct activating 18 degrees Taurus. Make some practical changes in your life and throw out anything that doesn’t bring you joy! (It went direct on January 22nd.)
Neptune The Dreamer is now direct. In Pisces it favours all the water signs. Watch your visions and dreams, get creative and meditate. We now have an opportunity to bring our dreams into manifestation. Trust your intuition.
Pluto moved into Aquarius on March 23rd. Pluto is an outer planet and affects world events. However it becomes more personal if it connects with one of inner planets in your chart. These are the Sun, Moon, Mercury Venus and Mars. It is activated at mid-life when it makes a square to itself around the age of 38. It moves into Aquarius briefly on March 23rd until June 11th 2023. However it only transits 0 degrees 22 mins Aquarius so not a major transit.
