This New Moon in sober Capricorn packs a real punch.

The most striking aspect to this New Moon in Capricorn is its closely aligned with Pluto, God of the Underworld. This can be seen in the world as the impending impeachment of Donald Trump.
Last week on Wednesday January 6th Mercury joined Pluto and Mars was at the last degree of Aries, which is extremely volatile.
The Independent newspaper reports “The invasion of Capitol and Capitol Hill riots: Dramatic videos show Trump supporters storming the Capitol building. Videos posted to social media from reporters and lawmakers depicted a chaotic, terrifying scene of pro-Trump rioters breaking into the Capitol building.”
Pluto represents buried wealth and power. Donald Trump is now seeing the results of his inflammatory speeches and lies. He’s been banned from Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, and his Trump enterprises are suffering.
In the news:- “US business leaders never took to Donald Trump and now the gloves are off.”
“New York mayor terminates city’s business ties with Donald Trump. All contracts with the Trump Organisation have been severed.”
Intensity with Mars squaring Saturn
The second major intense aspect at this New Moon is Mars in Taurus makes a challenging aspect to Saturn in Aquarius, as it then proceeds to move closer to Uranus. Mars is exactly conjunct Uranus on Inauguration Day, January 20th. Uranus is a planet connected to revolution; Mars is the God of War.
On a more personal level, Mars joining Uranus can be accident prone, or sudden flare ups with anger issues getting out of hand. Watch out for accidents as this energy is very ungrounding. It will start to ease by the New Moon in February. However by then we start the first of 3 squares of Saturn and Uranus, the theme of the year.
What’s the good news?
Venus in steady Capricorn represent the Elder Woman, the Sage. It makes a positive contact to Mars and Uranus.
I am following Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives and an extraordinary leader, who at the age of 80 totally embodies this energy.

Pluto is good for Pruning
A New Moon is always a good time to start afresh and with Pluto aligned its an excellent time for pruning. So my question is, what in your life needs to be pruned back, so like the shrub it can get stronger and flower in the Spring?
Mercury-what Messages will be delivered?
The month ahead now shows Mercury in Aquarius. It has moved past all the Capricorn planets. The first was Pluto on 5th January, followed by a square to Mars on the 9th, then joining Saturn on 10th and Jupiter on 11th.

Aquarians take Centre Stage
Now Jupiter and Saturn are in the air sign of Aquarius I pray for more enlightened times. Aquarius is a fixed air sign so can be fixed in their mental attitude. However at its best it’s open minded and its cosmic mission is to promote community.

Key Dates
Sun in Capricorn from 21st December until 19th January when it moves into Aquarius.
New Moon at 23 degrees Capricorn on 13th January at 5.00 GMT. It joins Pluto, so could be especially troublesome, but can portend transformation in the long term.
Mercury is now in Aquarius. It goes retrograde in Aquarius on 30th January.
Venus is in Capricorn. It’s a Morning Star and will join Pluto on 28th at the Full Moon. It enters Aquarius on 1st February.
Mars is now direct in Taurus on 6th January. This is a sign ruled by Venus, so I hope there will be a softer approach to anger issues/getting needs met. Watch out for 12th, 20th and 23rd January when Mars can get headstrong and antsy.
Jupiter is now direct It moved into Aquarius on 19th December for approx. 11 months. There is a brief period when it moves into Pisces on 13th May until 28th July as it retrogrades back into Aquarius.
Saturn is direct in Capricorn. It moves into Aquarius on 17th December. This ends two and a half years of Saturn in Capricorn so comes as a welcome relief for all Capricorns.
Uranus in Taurus is now retrograde activating 6-10 degrees Taurus. Make some practical changes in your life and throw out anything that doesn’t bring you joy! It goes direct on 14th January.
Neptune The Dreamer is now direct. In Pisces it favours all the water signs. Watch your visions and dreams, get creative and meditate. Neptune has been retrograde for 5 months since June 23rd, so we now have an opportunity to bring our dreams into manifestation. Trust your intuition.
Pluto in Capricorn is direct. Pluto is an outer planet and affects world events. However it becomes more personal if it connects with one of inner planets in your chart. These are the Sun, Moon, Mercury Venus and Mars. It is activated at mid-life when it makes a square to itself around the age of 38.
