New Moon in Leo- Time to Shine
The New Moon in Leo is ruled by the Sun, the place where we have come to shine. Its creative, warm-hearted and signifies leadership. This New Moon in Leo is also close to the Royal Star Regulus, the heart of the lion.
Uranus plays a major role in this chart as it forms a tense aspect to the Sun and Moon along with Venus in Leo still retrograde. Change is in the air, and especially in regard to relationships. My advise it to be aware of over reacting and wait for Venus to turn direct on September 4th before making any major changes in your life.
Write down what you want to manifest as Mercury and Mars in Virgo have an exact trine to Uranus along with Jupiter. Mercury going retrograde has a long spell in Virgo where it is exalted. This is great for editing, revising and reorganising your communications. Filing is promoted as is clearing your emails!
This month sees most planets – apart from the Sun, Moon, Mars being retrograde. Mercury goes retrograde in Virgo, a sign where its exalted on August 23rd. Uranus goes retrograde on 29th. Then on September 5th Jupiter will go retrograde in Taurus.
The Sun is in Leo along with Venus Retrograde
Both the Sun, Moon and Venus are in Leo, the Archetype of the King/Queen. So we have a triple dose of Leo energy. Venus is currently in transition from being an Evening Star to a Morning Star. It entered Leo on June 5th. It has disappeared below the horizon. One key date was on August 13th when Venus joins the Sun in what is called the Sacred Marriage. Jupiter moved into Taurus on May 16th
Jupiter the greater benefic is still direct at 15 degrees Taurus. It moved into Taurus for an entire year on May 16th until May 26th 2024. This is wonderful news for Taurus and Scorpio. Jupiter is the planet of faith, faith in life, that life is worth living. It takes 12 years to go around the zodiac, so look back 12 years to understand its influence in your chart. It is the biggest planet in our solar system and Jupiter is Zeus, King of the Gods. It brings good luck, expansiveness and the feel good factor. It truly is the planet of abundance, especially now its in the earth sign of Taurus.
Taurus is an earth sign ruled by Venus, and it promotes all activities connected to the earth such as gardening, music, farming, art, material wealth and all good things on the physical plane. It promotes cleaning and using Marie Kondo’s methods of letting go of anything that doesn’t bring you joy. Taurus is also compatible with the emotional water signs of Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio. Fellow earth signs Virgo and Capricorn also benefit from Jupiter’s gaze.

Key Dates August-2 Full Moons!
- August 13th Venus retrograde joins the Sun in Leo.
- August 16th New Moon in Leo
- August 19th Venus reappears as a Morning Star rising before dawn. However it disappears from view during the day as it is hidden by the light of the Sun.
- August 23rd Sun into Virgo.
- August 23rd Mercury goes retrograde in Virgo where it is exalted until October 5th. It goes direct on September 16th. On October 5th it changes sign into Libra.
- August 31st Full Moon in Pisces
Uranus in Taurus is still direct activating 23 degrees Taurus. Make some practical changes in your life and throw out anything that doesn’t bring you joy!
Neptune The Dreamer is now retrograde. In Pisces it favours all the water signs. Watch your visions and dreams, get creative and meditate. We now have an opportunity to bring our dreams into manifestation. Trust your intuition.
One key word for Neptune is compassion. However it can also indicate illusion, deceit, scandal, loss, drowning, a feeling of being overwhelmed and lost. If you’ve been feeling exhausted, depressed, over-burdened and with little energy then I recommend taking time out and being kind to yourself. Take comfort and know that “this too will pass”.
Bach Flower remedies such as Elm, Sweet Chestnut and Oak may be helpful. Also for shock Rock Rose or Rescue Remedy.
Pluto is now retrograde and moved back into Capricorn on June 11th. Pluto is an outer planet and affects world events. However it becomes more personal if it connects with one of inner planets in your chart. These are the Sun, Moon, Mercury Venus and Mars. It is activated at mid-life when it makes a square to itself around the age of 38. It moved into Aquarius briefly on March 23rd until June 11th 2023. However it only transits 0 degrees 22 mins Aquarius so not a major transit.
