Scorpio New Moon Opposite Uranus
This Scorpio New Moon is directly opposite Uranus in Taurus. Discovered in 1781 at the time of the French Revolution and the American War of Independence, Uranus is the planet -the Archetype- of revolution and change. Watch out for an electrifying tension in the air and stay grounded.
The Moon and the Sun along with Venus and Mercury are all in Scorpio, a water sign, so emotions run deep. Mercury moves retrograde on Oct 31st at Halloween, otherwise known as Samhain.
Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the “darker half” of the year. Traditionally, it is celebrated from 31 October to 1 November, as the Celtic day began and ended at sunset. This is about halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice.
When we collectively use the power of intention, we can ask for miracles as there is a positive connection between Saturn and Neptune, the potential to make our dreams come true. However this may be undermined by Mars in Libra sitting on the fence. Mars in Libra can indicate indecision.
As Scorpio is ruled by both Mars and Pluto, this New Moon invites us to have the courage to dive deep into the unconscious and face our shadows. Worth remembering that Pluto’s realm is the underworld is where the buried treasure lies.
A New Moon is a seed time, a time to make a new wish list for the month ahead. Celebrate Diwali, and light a candle in honour of Lakshmi when you make your wish list over the next 3 days.
Diwali and Lakshmi
Diwali is a wonderful festival. It’s timed when the New Moon is in Libra in the sidereal zodiac used in Vedic astrology. This happens on October 28th at 3.38am in the UK.
Libra is the sign of the weighing scales and connects us to money!
In the Hindu religion it spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair.
From Wikipedia:
“Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed.
On Diwali night, people dress up in new clothes or their best outfit, light up diyas (lamps and candles) inside and outside their home, participate in family puja (prayers) typically to the Goddess Lakshmi – the goddess of fertility and prosperity. After puja, fireworks follow!”
You too can celebrate Diwali tonight to invite in the Goddess Lakshmi for wealth, prosperity and abundance for your financial year ahead.
Where are the Planets?
Saturn in Capricorn moved forward on September 18th so plans for any projects that you have had on hold for the last 5 months now have the go ahead.
Pluto in Capricorn went direct on 3rd October. Pluto is an outer planet and affects world events. However it becomes more personal if it connects with one of inner planets in your chart. These are the Sun, Moon, Mercury Venus and Mars. It is activated at mid-life when it makes a square to itself around the age of 38.
Mercury is now in Scorpio from 3rd October until 9th December. It entered the shadow on October 11th at 11 degrees Scorpio. It goes retrograde on 31st October at 27 degrees Scorpio.
Therefore if you have any planet in Scorpio between 11 degrees and 27 degrees you will be connected to the energy of The Magician. Watch out for the signs and messages that come to you. This can be snatches of conversations that catch your attention, Facebook posts, news items that fascinate you, emails that arrive out of the blue.
Mercury retrograde joins the Sun on 11th November at 19 degrees Scorpio. It goes direct on 21st November at 11 degrees Scorpio. This Messenger planet requires us to dive deep into our emotions, clear any issues in our unconscious and heal the Shadows within. I have Mercury in Scorpio, so I know this territory well! The New Moon on 27th October has 4 planets in Scorpio.
Venus in Scorpio until 1st November, then into Sagittarius. It makes a rare conjunction to Jupiter on 24th November at the degree of The Galactic Centre, our Sun’s Sun and the heart of the Galaxy.
Mars in Libra until 19th November when it enters its home sign of Scorpio. Mars will square Saturn on 27th October which could be a tough day-so stay patient. It’s still ‘in orb’ until 6th November. It squares Pluto on 5th November so watch out for power struggles.
Mars takes 2 years to travel around the zodiac. In Libra its weak, however as Venus is now in Scorpio it exchanges signs with Mars, which balances and improves Mars.
