This Super Blood Wolf Moon Total Lunar Eclipse
How did you sleep last night? If like me, full moons affect you, then this full moon was electrifying. I woke at 3.30am and couldn’t get back to sleep. It was a clear night so luckily I saw the blood red moon eclipse at 5.15am through my bedroom window.
A Supermoon is when the Moon is closest to the earth. They happen every year, and this was the first of 3 for the year. The Guardian described this as “the last blood moon for two years will combine with a supermoon to create unusual celestial phenomenon.”
All eclipses are a reboot, a time to take stock. This full moon is at 0 degrees Leo and that degree will be activated for a whole month. Watch the news as Mercury will be on the same degree as the Sun, 0 degrees Aquarius on Thursday January 24th.
A lunar eclipse has a Libran feel as its a potent super opposition of the Sun and Moon.
- It puts a strong focus on relationships, so may indicate the beginning or ending of a marriage or business arrangement.
- Or you begin to work in relationships in a very different way.
- It can bring long term projects and goals to fruition.
- It can be a time of major reorganisation and letting go. Interesting that Marie Kondo, author of Tidying Up with Marie Kondo now on Netflix. She has started a huge reaction to her comment that no-one needs to keep more than 30 books!
Saros Cycle
Astrologer Bernadette Brady discusses the eclipse cycles in her book The Eagle and the Lark. Eclipses occur in different Saros series. The January partial Solar Eclipse and this Total Lunar Eclipse are part of a series called 2 South. She writes:-
This eclipse is concerned with unusual groups and the individual’s involvement with those groups. This could be a time when the individual notices or suddenly desires to find a particular group whose concerns would be healing, the arts, or the love of humanity. The individual will feel that through involvement with such a group, he or she would benefit a great deal.
This seems to fit the themes shown astrologically to a tee.

Firstly, I want to remind you to look back at the Wish list you wrote at the New Moon, now is the time of fruition. If you haven’t done this, then wait for the next New Moon on February 4th at 15 degrees Aquarius.
The wolf is the Teacher, which is Jupiter in astrology. Since Jupiter is now in its home sign of Sagittarius, the messages we receive at this Full Moon are to be highly valued.
The moon is the symbol for psychic energy, or the unconscious that holds the secrets of knowledge and wisdom.
According to Jamie Sams author of The Medicine Cards, “Wolf medicine empowers the teacher within us all to come forth and aid the children of Earth in understanding the Great Mystery and life.
Your intuitive side may also have an answer or teaching for your personal use at this time. As you feel Wolf coming alive within you, you may wish to share your knowledge by writing or lecturing on information that will help others better understand their uniqueness or path in life.
Wolf could also be telling you to seek out lonely places that will allow you to see your teacher within. In the aloneness of a power place, devoid of other humans, you may find the true you. Look for teachings no matter where you are. Wolf would not come to you unless you requested the appearance of the tribe’s greatest teacher.”
- The Sun is now in Aquarius from January 20th until February 18th
- Mercury moves into Aquarius. As the Messenger planet Mercury is now moving really fast, so listen to the messages that are coming to you.
- Venus is in Sagittarius from January 7th 2019 until February 22nd. It joins Jupiter on January 22nd which is a joining of the two most benefic planets. A day for joyful celebration!
- Mars is now in Aries until February 14th 2019. It contacts Venus in a positive aspect on January 18th. Mars takes 2 years to move through all the signs, so this is a positive boost for all fire signs, Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.
- The Nodal axis shifted on November 16th into the Cancer/Capricorn axis. For the next 18 months eclipse will occur in these signs. This axis brings up issues with our family as Cancer is ruled by the Moon ( mother) and Capricorn is ruled by Saturn (father). Control issues will surface, bringing up fights.
- Jupiter moved into Sagittarius on November 8th 2018 where it stays until December 2nd 2019. This is hugely beneficial for all the fire signs- Sagittarius, Aries and Leos.
